For this particular house, the design process was developed in direct relationship with the family which would be living in the space: a couple with two young kids. The design intention was to generate through use of colors and different textures of materials, an infinite number of visual and spatial connections. In terms of organization of spaces, it is a balance between social and tranquil space, the hub of life centering on the vibrant colors of the social areas. Elements scattered around the house are reminiscent to client in different ways : wooden bead abacus railing at the entrance reminds of the childhood toy, the wall tapestry on the passage wall, suggestive of grandmother’s weaving, the carved wooden blocks used in children book cabinet and entrance door is indicative to client’s textile business. It is intended to be a warm, fresh, luminous house, which through a series of quirks allows the user to explore and enjoy the space.
