Interaction with a space should be the basis of design
Designing is an organic and intuitive process which gets refined through discussions and deliberations. Each idea sketched on the paper is further evolved by giving it a three-dimensional form either through physical or computer generated study models depending on the typology of the project.
The Company of Design is a multifaceted design firm initiated in 2015, by Architect Niel Parekh and Pooja Shah, with the belief that designing should not be confined to any one dimension, may it be urban design, architecture, interiors or furniture. With a belief in a practice, where it's not the style of an architect that becomes pivot for a design but a context that forges it, every project becomes an opportunity to derive human-centric solutions.
Ar. Niel Parekh
Principal Architect
Niel graduated in 2011 with his Bachelors in Architecture from the Sarvajanik College of Engineering and Technology in Surat, and then went on to complete his Masters in Advanced Architecture-Architecture and Urbanism, from IAAC in Barcelona in 2014.
Niel gained his formative experience as a young architect at Opolis Architects in Mumbai before moving back to Surat and starting The Company of Design. He continues to follow his passion for academia as a visiting faculty at the Sarvajanik College of Engineering and Technology.
Ar. Pooja Shah
Principal Architect
Pooja graduated in 2011 with her Bachelors in Architecture from the Sarvajanik College of Engineering and Technology in Surat, and then went on to specialise in Retail space design from ELISAVA in Barcelona in 2014.
Pooja gained her formative experience as a young architect at Samira Rathod Design Atelier in Mumbai before moving to Surat and starting The Company of Design with Niel Parekh. She continues to follow her passion for academia as a visiting faculty at the Sarvajanik College of Engineering and Technology.
