Avamii is a fine-dine restaurant that explores Indian materiality through a contemporary lens. The layout unfolds as a series of distinct dining zones rather than a singular open hall, creating moments of intimacy and transition. Red laterite stone anchors the entrance and service counters, while the central dining area rises on a platform, shaped by curved booth seating and softened by sheer partitions.
Here, partitions are reimagined as functional sculptural elements through a series of vertically stacked light totems. Defining the private dining zone, they blur the boundary between furniture, light, and architecture, integrating ambient illumination into the spatial framework.
Rather than drawing from traditional motifs or ornamentation, the design finds its Indian expression in the language of material, texture, colour, and light—evoking a sense of familiarity through a contemporary vocabulary.
