Cafe Amado
Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh
This sandy-hued café consists of three distinct areas : an indoor seating area, an extended balcony and a stone-clad brew counter which serves as the central element acting as the focal element of the space. The understanding of the brand narrative and to try and express it with tangible elements was a key aspect of the design process. This was achieved by framing these elements as a visual and spatial experience from the moment guests walk through the door.
The softened arches demarcate each bays, lending a certain rhythm to the overall space. For people coming in at different times of the day, the glass partition separating balcony allows to bring natural light in, creating different moods throughout the day and also expands the space visually, providing a seamless experience. The idea to bring different interactions to the space without causing any friction, has been achieved with the simple use of diverse furniture which resonates with the type of gathering it encourages and thus creating community that Café Amado envisioned.
