Cafe Pulp
Surat, Gujarat
A modest cafe situated in Surat Gujarat, ‘Cafe Pulp’ embraces a restrained material palette creating a serene space that seamlessly blends ambiance with artistic expression. Cleverly integrated into a building that also houses a quaint earth friendly paper stationery store, ‘Cafe Pulp’ is more than just a place to grab a drink — it’s an experience.
The café itself is cozy and inviting, with a small courtyard that provides a refreshing escape from the bustling city. Spatially, the covered area transitions seamlessly into the courtyard through a semi-open corridor, which also connects to the adjoining stationary store. With the intent to provide a unique experience for every customer, a variety of seating options has been designed to cater to different moods and preferences: a cushioned ledge that can be adapted by clustering tables for larger groups; a central communal table that encourages shared experiences; and ledge seating overlooking the courtyard, perfect for sitting with a book and enjoying a quiet, contemplative view. The ceilings are crafted with paper pulp panels by Paperdom’ which not only enhance the café’s design but also serve as soundproof elements.
